the pitch

pick a mode and work a number puzzle. some are quick maths. some check whether you actually know how numbers work. a few are pure vibes with a right answer.

quick maths

• factora, find every factor of the target.
• target, build an equation that lands on the number.
• summism, add digits until you hit it.
• make x, same idea, but you're dealt cards you have to use.
• make x², solve for x. yes, algebra. you're fine.

how numbers work

• primal, prime or composite. that's the whole question.
• modulo, what's left over. 10 ÷ 3 leaves 1.
• divis, name things that divide into it cleanly.
• complement, fill in the blank to hit the total.
• binary beats, binary in, decimal out.

vibes with a right answer

• quantize, how many dots. don't count them, you don't have time.
• fermi questions, estimate to the nearest power of ten.
• probable, guess the real odds. one in how many?

estimation

you'll be off by a factor of a thousand and still feel smug. that's the point: being roughly right, fast, is a real skill.
