Mayday 14NTERN
A new look for every game, four new Max games, the vault and next, spooky icons, and a lot more.
A new look
Every game has its own look now, inside one shared frame.
- Fresh screens for every game, with new art for each one.
- One options pill on every setup screen. Tap it to see every setting in one sheet, with a one-line summary.
- A rebuilt Play tab with a favorites filter and a card to come back to your game.
- A Today tab that shows an all-done card with a countdown to the next daily.
- Smoother motion: real press feedback, answer pops, and eased sheets. Choose none, simple, or enhanced in Settings.
- Bigger tap targets, readable text, and screen reader labels throughout.
Four new games
Pinpoint, overlap, chronicle, and bellwether are Mayday Max games, marked beta while we tune them. Play against a timer (zen, 1, 3, or 5 minutes) or at your own pace. Skip or give up any time, save and resume, and keep a streak for each setup.
- Pinpoint: drop a pin on the map, or find one small thing in a satellite photo or a crowded old painting. About 90 rounds.
- Overlap: find the one word that fits both clues. Hints cost a try, and you can switch them off.
- Chronicle: drag real events into order. Eight themes and 95 events.
- Bellwether: guess when a real moment happened on a 1950 to 2026 timeline, then see the front page.
The vault
A new mode in decipher. Crack a four-symbol code before you run out of guesses.
- Pick what a guess tells you: classic pegs, right spots only, or right symbols only.
- Today's code is the same for everyone and can be played once. After that, the vault deals random codes.
- A walkthrough with a worked example opens the first time, and any time from the info button.
- The whole board fits one screen.
Next
A new mode in infinitum. Work out what comes next in a sequence.
Spooky icons
Four halloween app icons for your home screen, among 27 new icons that arrive on a holiday schedule.
- Pick one in Settings. The picker is grouped now, with search and info buttons.
- The fun set is permanent with Mayday Plus.
- Icons on Android are masked to the launcher shape instead of showing as squares.
Recalloween
New recall packs: monsters, doomsday, GTA, rockstar, and comics. Ghost stories welcome.
Share cards
Every game has new share cards, and each kind has its own named styles. The new games get cards too: pinpoint pins on a world map, chronicle's timeline, and the vault's pegs (never the symbols, so no spoilers). Long word lists now fit the card instead of spilling over.
A quicker first launch
First run is one screen. Pick a game from the grid and play. Language and word packs ask before they download.
Downloads and storage
The app always asks before it downloads anything, and tells you how many items, how big, and whether you are on Wi-Fi. Choose ask me, Wi-Fi only, or any connection. The new Storage page in Preferences lists your word packs, trivia packs, and pinpoint pictures with sizes, and lets you remove any of them. Your saves and stats are never touched.
Streaks
Streak 7 and month milestones are celebrated in the daily result. Streak ended and streak saved show once per game each day.
Membership
The membership card now switches between Plus and Max with a tap. After you buy, a welcome view shows your plan and renewal date. Max members are no longer shown locked features.
Stats
Every run in the new games is counted, even one you leave with the back gesture. Each game keeps a best score and best streak highlight for your stats sheet, and the vault and next keep their own inside decipher and infinitum.
School share cards
College recall packs get a school-spirit share card: a short football-style name over an abstract pattern for each school. No logos or mascots.
Fixes and polish
A lot of small things got better.
- The gauge guess track is cleaner, and pins no longer stack on top of each other when guesses are close.
- Pinpoint no longer repeats the round you just played, and its result screen fits without scrolling.
- The archive calendar marks days covered by a streak save as saved, not missed.
- Locks no longer flash on Plus games before your purchase loads.
- Hard shade rounds no longer mix creatures and objects.
- Choosing another cipher in the vault, or another mode in next, starts that game straight away.
- The vault daily can no longer be replayed, and the clock waits behind sheets and prompts.
- App icon changes no longer stall after a few picks.
- Tips and toasts wait for onboarding and no longer vanish early.
- The Today tab loads each row on its own, so one slow row never leaves it blank.
- The beta tag on Play cards is a small tag instead of text stuck to the game name.
Tell us what you think
Tap the flag in any game to report a problem, now including the four new games. From the report sheet you can send an idea instead. The new games also have a recommendations button for ideas and links, with an optional name and email. Curated dailies for chronicle, pinpoint, and bellwether are coming next.
